PAINTINGS
“The abstract or non-representational, for me, supersedes narrative, descriptive forms which allow less interplay between the artist and viewer…the longevity of a work relies on its mystery. The abstract usually outlasts the interpretations and stays alive.”

All works are done in oil, acrylic, or mixed and are painted on canvas, paper, or wood.

Commissioned artwork constitutes a good part of Hans’ work. “If I am challenged by a new possibility, not directly copying what I’ve already done, and am free to direct a painting as it develops, then I feel a commissioned artwork is unique and worthy of all my effort.” HL
